Due date!

Today marked my official due date and I sure am thankful to have a week old healthy baby instead of being 40 weeks pregnant right now!  I was scheduled to be induced on the 13th but went into labor early in the morning last Tuesday.  The first week has been long and tiring at times but we really couldn't ask for a better newborn.  He doesn't cry much, loves to eat, and goes right back to sleep after nighttime feedings.  Keep up the good work Grant and Mommy and Daddy will be extra happy!  I've taken some 400+ pictures over the last week but here are a few of my favorites:

Never a dull moment with Wes!

All dressed to go home.

Starting to see some dimples.

Out of the house and Ready to ride!

"Back to School"

Wes started back at his preschool on Tuesday and he was so excited.  He was literally running from the car to the door.  I tried to not get my feelings hurt when I had to ask him to say goodbye to me!  So of course no first day would be complete without front porch pictures...

So grown up.

"Enough of the pictures already, can't we go!"

Wes and His 'Baby"

This story goes all the way back to the last day of school when Wes' teacher gave them all a teddy bear.  Well, bless this poor bear's heart he's not the most quality made bear in the world.  His fur falls out in clumps, his nose and eyes are a little crooked and funny looking.  When we got home he went in the pile in Wes' closet with all the other stuffed animals.  Then one day when I was cleaning out baby clothes I saw Wes had pulled him out.  Wes has had a hard time understanding how little the baby will be when its born so I had the genius idea to let him put a newborn onesie on this bear who seemed just the right size.  Then it all started and Jon was not so happy...

He's become obsessed with taking care of "his baby" all summer.

Our favorite story was the night Wes wet the bed for the 2nd time that day (very long story but we were just having one of those days) so in the middle of the night while we're changing sheets again.  Wes bursts into tears "Oh no, I peeeeeeed on my baby!!!!!"

We put the crib in Wes' room and then he couldn't sleep without his baby going to bed too.

We went to a big brother class one morning and Wes was supposed to bring something to practice putting a diaper on.  Guess who got to tag along...

I got a new stroller and he had to try it out with his baby.

Then most recently, Jon put together the baby swing and it has sat there ever since.  I think Wes thinks we'll just put his new brother in a swing and he'll sit there for days without making a peep.  Wouldn't that be nice???

So I'll leave you with a picture of the real Baby from about two weeks ago.  Its not the best picture cause things are a little cramped in there but I was still excited to get a little sneak peek!

End of Summer

I've been really sad to see summer come to an end this year.  Don't get me wrong I'm ready as ever for cooler weather and of course to meet our new little one but I just feel like everything in our lives is going so quickly right now! We slowed down some in August for obvious reason but still managed to have some fun at home.

We spent a Saturday morning @ Cheekwood Gardens playing on the tree houses. Well Jon and Wes played while I slowly walked around...

One last summer watermelon for Labor Day.

Morning @ the park.

August came with a week under the weather so we spent sometime on the couch watching movies.

Last of the summer swims :(

Jon and Wes on a friday night "campout".  Wes kept waking up in the night asking Jon to scoot over, I think we need a bigger tent!

Checking out the train @ my doctors appointment one last time. I won't miss going but I think Wes will miss the train.

A Chic-fil-a dinner date and saturday morning doughnuts.  The sacrifices I have to make for Wes!

Free Kids movies were a great break from the heat!

Followed by a motorcycle ride

We also had to get creative with some ways to entertain ourselves @ home...

Wes has grown up so much over the summer and we've had a blast together!
