It's tough being the little brother!

Before Grant was born I had hoped for another boy so Wes could have a brother.  It's been so much fun to watch these two interact, especially now that Grant's personality is really starting to show.   They can fight one minute and then go straight into being best buddies without missing a beat.

Today when I picked up Wes from school he was so excited that his teacher had brought him a sucker from her recent trip to Disney. He wanted to eat it first thing in the car so I opened it up and handed it back to him.  Grant likes Mickey Mouse so Wes was very sweet and wanted to let him have a taste.  He hands it over to Grant who of course pops the whole thing in his mouth and puts a death grip on it and won't give it back.  Wes was tears, Grant was in tears... all while I'm trying to drive.  I managed to reach back and pry it out of Grant's little chubby fingers and hand the sucker back to Wes.  Grant melted down screaming "Me-MOUSEEEE" the rest of the way home.  Meanwhile, I was trying to not let my laughing be too obvious.  I'm guessing next time Wes will not be so quick to share with that little stinker!

Then when we get home and Wes takes off his shoes I noticed his socks are only covering half his feet.  We can't seem to keep his wardrobe in line with all his growing these days.  I tell him those socks are too small and he needs to put them in Grant's sock basket next time.  Wes says, "I'll just give them to him now."  He proceeds to take Grant's shoes and socks off and shove his sweaty socks onto Grant's feet but you can tell Grant thinks it's the greatest.  Later when I was getting Grant ready for his nap he points to his feet with a big smile and says "Wes Gock-es (Socks)"

First T-Ball Game

The much anticipated First T-ball game finally arrived this weekend.  I don't know who was more excited Wes or Jon!  Jon's parents were able to come down for the weekend and since there was an extra set of hands to corral Grant I was able to take plenty of pictures.  A good time was had by all!

Game Face.

A rare family photo!

Little brother trying to steal baseballs from a random bag.

Listening to the coach

Ready for his first at bat

Ready to run home

He's intense.

The best moment of the game by far was when a ball actually made to the outfield.  And the entire infield ran after it.
The coach looking confused.

Except for one child who was busy making dirt angels. You gotta love sports at the age!

An empty infield.
Wes was in the outfield for the second inning.  He asked Jon before going out, "How am I supposed to get the ball all the way out there??"

All smiles!

He's been asking for weeks if he could have a gatorade for his game.
Staying hydrated.

What have we been up to?

Since my last entry was when Grant was ten months old its save to say things have changed a lot since then! Here's an abridged version of the past three seasons...

We bought a house this past summer and were busy updating and getting settled.  Wes started 4 year preschool and has made lots of new friends.  He played soccer this past fall and is starting t-ball this spring.  Grant turns 18 months this week and is busier and sweeter than ever!  He's a social little guy always full of high fives and kisses to blow to strangers.  Jon's busy working hard and traveling some during the week. He spends his weekends playing with the boys outside or doing all the "handy man" projects that come along with homeownership.  I fill my days with laundry, wiping faces, changing diapers, taking care of an elderly Travis, and feeding three boys (which is busier than it sounds but wouldn't trade it for anything)!  It has truly been a good 6+ months for us.  We count our blessings daily and try to slow down and enjoy this current fun but always busy time with little ones at home!
