Grant @ 5 months

Grant has really changed a lot in the last month.  He has such a sweet happy personality that is showing more everyday and he is still full of smiles.  He mastered the roll from his back to his belly and is learning to use it to get places.  I've even walked in the room to catch him on his knees and elbows looking like he wants to start moving.  Not ready for that quickly approaching milestone! He continued to wake up at night when he'd roll over and in his world as long as he's awake he could always get a little snack. After a two week stretch of feeling like I had a newborn again and some long crying it out sessions he's finally adjusted and learned that sleeping on his belly isn't so bad after all.  I guess Mom is always right!

4 month checkup

Grant went in for his 4 month checkup this week and he weighed in at 15 lbs 9 oz (50%) and 25 inches (50%).   He's strong and healthy and is meeting all his milestones perfectly.  He had lots of smiles and things to tell Dr. Brooks.  The doctor did tell us he heard a little heart murmur but he didn't seem concerned and said it was probably something he would outgrow.  Good thing we know a few cardiologists in case we need a second opinion!

He learned to rollover this past Sunday which means hes enjoying "playing" on the floor more.  He's been working on it for a while but was having trouble getting over his chubby little arm.  Sunday night while he was sleeping he figured it out, the down side is now he wakes up and cries every night when he rolls over.  Pretty sure last night was about every 45 minutes... EEK!  So needless to say we've been working this week on letting him put himself to sleep for naps and bedtime.

Brothers playing.

Pretty sure the TV was on, I get the same look from Wes and Jon!
Wes likes to read him books

Chubs all ready for his bath time!
Happy Boy.

4 months old

Grant turned four months last Friday.  We're so thankful because he's started to sleep through the night. making Mommy much more cheerful during the day!  He usually wakes up around 4 for an early morning feeding then goes right back to bed.  He's moved to his crib upstairs and its going well with him and Wes sharing a room.  He loves to stand up in our laps and look around so I've started putting him in the exersaucer some to play, but his chubby little legs don't touch the ground yet so he usually only stays there a few minutes.  He still loves his swing, his mobile and his giraffe blanket and puppy that he sleeps with, playing patty cake and flying the Trapeze (some might not know what that is but it's a little song my Granddad used to sing that has been sung for years.)

He's started to laugh some and is always full of smiles.  He has the softest chubby cheeks that I can't resist kissing on all day.  He's starting to "kiss" my face back which is so sweet. We love this little happy guy so much and wish we could freeze time and keep him this little forever!

Chubby little legs.

First time in his bouncy seat.  Not to sure about it yet.

2 months and 3 months

Grant turned 3 months old last week and I never posted anything about 2 months so you get both in one entry!

At two months he weighed in at 13 lbs 4 oz ( 90%) and was 22 3/4 inches long (50%).  He's getting chubbier by the day!  We've been working this month to move him to his crib in Wes' room and get him on a little more of a schedule.  He's doing pretty good but still has to get up at night to satisfy his big boy appetite!  I'm hoping he can sleep through the night SOON.  Overall he's a really sweet and content baby. He's starting to learn to use his hands and will grab for toys and blankets. He loves the ceiling fan, being held, and always has big smiles, especially for his mommy.

People always ask if he and Wes look alike so here's a picture of Wes @ 3 months and let me know what you think!

One month on 10/11/12

Sweet baby Grant is already a month old and we're all adjusting well.  He's fallen into a little of a routine, sleeps good at night and is all around pretty content.  He loves to be held and snuggle. Big Brother Wes is so proud, loves to help and is always to quick to point out a Poopy diaper!

Due date!

Today marked my official due date and I sure am thankful to have a week old healthy baby instead of being 40 weeks pregnant right now!  I was scheduled to be induced on the 13th but went into labor early in the morning last Tuesday.  The first week has been long and tiring at times but we really couldn't ask for a better newborn.  He doesn't cry much, loves to eat, and goes right back to sleep after nighttime feedings.  Keep up the good work Grant and Mommy and Daddy will be extra happy!  I've taken some 400+ pictures over the last week but here are a few of my favorites:

Never a dull moment with Wes!
